The Libelli Agency was founded by Ute-Christine Geiler and Birte Lilienthal.
We’ve translated some of the iconic books of the romance genre for major German publishers: “Lord of Scoundrels” by Loretta Chase, “Devil in Winter“ by Lisa Kleypas, as well as books by Teresa Medeiros, Stephanie Laurens, Julia Quinn, Candace Camp, Lisa Marie Rice and more.
We’ve also been at the forefront of the indie revolution by helping New York Times bestselling authors such as Jennifer Ashley, Marie Force, Shannon Mayer, Courtney Milan and Theresa Ragan self-publish their works in German.
Ute-Christine Geiler and Birte Lilienthal are both members of RWA.
Libelli – from libellus, latin for little book. The Roman poet Martial used the word “libelli” whenever he was self-deprecatingly referring to his books. As we both started our forays into the indie market with the translation of short novels/novellas (and Ute is a Latin buff, but you didn’t hear that from me) we thought it a fitting name. For that is what we love to work on: little books that bring joy and a smile on readers’ faces.
